Los Angeles firm promises to ship new gold and diamond plated iPhone 6 four weeks after launch
Apple is yet to officially announce the launch of the iPhone 6, but one retailer of luxury brands has already started accepting orders online.
Los Angeles-based Brikk has listed 14 different variants of the new iPhone on its website and is accepting pre-orders for $500.
That is just the pre-order fee.
The actual price of the Lux iPhone 6 with finishing in 24K yellow and pink gold, platinum and diamond Apple logo ranges between $4,495 and $8,395. According to Brikk the devices are 4.7 inches with 128GB internal storage. It appears anyone from anywhere, including the UAE, can pre-order the devices on the Brikk portal.
This year Apple is expected toe out with new models of the iPhone - a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and a 5.5-inch phablet-sized iPhone Air.
Brikk is currently only targeting the 4.6-inch iPhone 6. Thepany said it would ship the devices three to four weeks after the official announcement, packaged in a custom metal box with a user manual and all accessories standard to the device.
“Each Lux iPhone 6 by Brikkes with a diamond-embedded certificate of authenticity and an exclusive 1-year warranty,” it said.
According to thepany, “Each piece is disassembled inside Brikk’s state-of-the-art laboratory in Los Angeles, USA by a team of highly skilled engineers.
"They are hand polished, prepared and plated with five layers of diverse metals before their final plating in either two layers of gold or platinum.
"The high quality diamonds are set with a microscope in a custom-made machined bezel. Each piece is then reassembled and tested before shipping to clients, ensuring the product meets only the highest quality control standards.”
Brikk, however, warns you that the final specifications will be based on Apple’s announcement. “Specifications, images and information cannot be guaranteed and is subject to change based on the actual release of iPhone 6 by Apple Corporation,” it says.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the production of the new device has already started even as attention is being paid to maintain the secrecy as Apple does not want to reveal any of its features until the phone is finally unveiled.
According to some reports Foxconn founder and chairman Terry Gou has taken on the responsibility to oversee that the process moves forward without hiccups.
Latest leaks also point out that the iPhone 6 could finallye with NFC and a much larger circuit board that enables WiFi 802.11ac that facilitates much faster downloads at about 1GBps.
Other reports are also suggesting that Apple might abandon plans to equip its devices with the much harder to break sapphire glass for its screen due to supply shortage.
